About Natalie
Dr Natalie Elphinstone is a specialist obstetrician practicing on the Mornington Peninsula. Natalie grew up on a farm in rural Victoria before moving to the city to study medicine.
Natalie graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2005. After working at the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Austin Hospital, she completed her specialist training locally at Frankston Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. Natalie and her family reside locally on the Mornington Peninsula.
Natalie is friendly, approachable and passionate about empowering women. Natalie is committed to delivering the best pregnancy care possible for all her patients. She believes in offering an individualised care plan alongside each patient and their support team. Natalie loves caring for patients privately at The Bays Hospital, where she can offer a greater level of personalised care.
Natalie also plays an active role in teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical students, specialist trainees and obstetric GPs through her public appointment at Frankston Hospital.
When she’s not working, Natalie is kept busy with her four children. Natalie loves sharing birth stories and more on her Instagram @drnatalieelphinstone. Natalie also enjoys paper-crafting (think scrapbooks, cards etc), which has allowed her opportunities to appear on television, in stores, and at conferences.
Natalie is based at Genesis Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and practices collaboratively with Amy Corlass, one of the pioneers of private midwifery on the Mornington Peninsula. Genesis Obstetrics & Gynaecology is located onsite at The Bays Hospital. The Bays is the only award winning private maternity hospital on the Mornington Peninsula. Pregnancy Care
Dr Natalie loves caring for pregnant women. Dr Natalie cares for women with normal and high risk pregnancies. She believes in making a labour or birth plan that’s as individual as you are. Whether that’s a vaginal birth, an elective caesarean, maternal-assisted caesarean, VBAC, or anything in between!
Dr Natalie practices collaborative with Amy Corlass. Amy is an amazing person and is one of the pioneers of private midwifery on the Mornington Peninsula. Amy was among the first midwives in Australia to be registered as a Medicare-participating private midwife. Having worked in her own private practice, as a homebirth midwife, a yoga teacher, lactation consultant, and with other private obstetric practices, Amy has a wide experience in empowering and caring for women. Dr Natalie and Amy are based at The Bays Hospital, caring for patients with or without a health fund membership. On occasion, Dr Natalie and Amy can also provide antenatal care for a very limited number of public patients who intend to deliver at Frankston Hospital. Women's Health
Dr Natalie strives to provide comprehensive management for all gynaecology concerns. However, due to the demands of Dr Natalie’s obstetrics practice, she is currently unable to care for gynaecology patients at this time.
Maternal-Assisted Caesarean
Dr Natalie is a believer in guiding and empowering women to have the best possible birth experience. For some women, this may involve a maternal-assisted caesarean. A maternal-assisted caesarean is when the mother assists in the delivery of their baby at a caesarean. You can learn more about the experience via Dr Natalie’s Instagram.

Costs & Fees
About Costs
An out of pocket fee is payable for consultations. Payment on the day of service is appreciated. Patients registered for Medicare Online can have their Medicare claim processed electronically at the time of payment. Payments can be made via cash, EFTPOS, credit card or direct deposit.
A quote for your specific requirements can be provided at any time. Costs for care can vary significantly, depending on your Medicare status, the health fund you’re a member of, or if you are electing to self-fund your care. Please contact our staff for more information.

More information about Dr Elphinstone’s obstetric fees, including no-obligation quotes, are available by contacting our friendly staff.
Obstetrics fees are typcially paid over two instalments. We appreciate that you may wish to pay your fees via additional instalments. To assist with this process, a personalised payment plan can be arranged. Finalisation of all pregnancy and mangement fees is expected by 30 weeks gestation. Contact our staff for more information.
Gynaecology
With her focus on obstetrics, Dr Natalie is unable to see patients requiring gynaecology care.
